Ione is a veteran of the healthcare industry with more than 30 years of experience in medical practice management, healthcare, marketing, business development, purchasing, risk management, and governmental guidelines.
She is a practice director for a group of eight providers and their staff. She manages all day-to-day operations for the medical group and over the years has helped facilitate a merger, implementation and use of EMR, Meaningful Use, PQRS reporting and other performance benchmarks.
Prior to her role as an Instructor, she worked as a practice management consultant specializing in practice coordination and assessment for healthcare providers. She has comprehensive knowledge of relations, equipment, physical plant, compliance, coding, and governmental regulations.
She is also a past administrator for a large MSO where she supervised multiple clinic sites and was responsible for business development in the Southwest Louisiana region, which included the conversion of private practices to MSO status. She was also a former private investigator specializing in healthcare fraud and abuse.
