ICD-10-CM Coding Update
Be prepared for October 1, when recent updates to the ICD-10-CM code set - including the Index, Tabular, Neoplasms, and External Causes - go into effect impacting numerous specialties. There are a total of 74,260 ICD-10-CM codes available for use in FY 2025 code set with 252 new, 36 deleted, and 13 revised codes. Avoid interruption to your claims and revenue with a comprehensive review of the ICD-10-CM changes and key ICD-10 coding and reporting guidelines for patient encounters occurring on or after October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025.
This session will help you identify templates or other documents that may need to be updated and/or replaced and prepare you to collaborate with your practice management system and EHR vendors to update coding and billing software. It's risky to rely on EMR code selection, and failure to code to the highest degree of specificity negatively affects reimbursement and utilization statistics.
Advance preparation will ensure your team is informed of the new codes and requirements. Learn how the 2025 code set changes may impact your claims beginning October 1. Medical coders, billers, providers, managers, consultants, and compliance officers are encouraged to attend and get your questions answered about the annual update. Registration includes digital companion material with a summary of code changes plus a bonus chapter specific excel file - a helpful resource beyond the classroom. An ICD-10-CM code set manual may be helpful to reference for the context of the changes but is not required.
