Comprised of physician liaisons, health system principles, physician health organization directors, and faculty designate, PMI's 2013-2014 National Advisory Board members will be instrumental in helping PMI to support its growing member base.

Jennifer Stanley

Physician Relations Specialist, Northwest Texas Healthcare System
President of the Board of Directors for Medical Managers of Amarillo

"What an honor to be selected as a Board Member for the National Advisory Board for Practice Management Institute. With over twenty years experience in Physician Relations I hope to bring a unique perspective to the Board."

Andy McEntire, CMOM

Provider Relations Representative, Ark-La-Tex Health Network

"I appreciate PMI being pro-active to the educational needs of our medical providers' workforce. PMI's instructors not only hold a wealth of knowledge, but they are supportive and understanding of the issues medical practices face. I value the partnership between PMI and Ark-La-Tex Health Network – education is the key driver behind the highly skilled professionals supporting our medical providers today. PMI offers this education. I am proud to serve on the 2012/2013 PMI National Advisory Board to assist in the workforce development of professionals on a national and local level with quality PMI education."

Barbara Good, CMC, CMOM

Physician Practice Advocate, West Virginia State Medical Association

"I am honored to serve on PMI's 2013/2014 National Advisory Board. PMI and I share similar goals in that we are both passionate about providing excellence, both in physician practice education and in service to our physicians and clients. The West Virginia State Medical Association's affiliation with PMI has enabled us to bring CMOM and CMC certification programs to West Virginia physician practices, as well as other valuable and necessary educational programs.

I look forward to being a part of the PMI National Advisory Board as we seek new ways to provide the best in educational opportunities for physician practices."

Pam Mortin

Northeast Louisiana Physician Hospital Organization

"It is my privilege to serve on the National Advisory Board for PMI for 2012/2013. I have been impressed with the education opportunities and talent of the speakers that PMI has brought to our community for physician office staff. Many times I have had office staff comment to me, that if it wasn't for PMI coming to our community and offering timely programs they would not have the opportunity to participate in educational workshops. More importantly, PMI has worked diligently with me to provide quality programs for our physicians, offering CMEs. I am proud to be affiliated with such a fine organization as PMI."

Courtney Waggoner, CMC, CMIS, CMCO

Patient Services Manager, P. Beutel Health Center- Texas A&M University

"The only way that we can get better at what we do is through education and the sharing of knowledge with one another. I am very excited to be a part of Practice Management Institute and a member of the 2012-2013 National Advisory Board. Since 2005 PMI has offered not only myself but office staff of the Brazos Valley medical community many opportunities to become "better" in our careers through educational opportunities both locally and regionally. My goal as a member of this board is to bring my 22 years of experience, in both management and the trenches, to assist our members in reaching their full potential as medical office professionals. I am looking forward to the coloration and new relationships that will evolve."

Linda D'Spain, CMPE, CMC, CMIS, CMOM, CMCO

Faculty Designate, Practice Management Institute

Libby Purser, CPC, CMC, CMIS, CMOM

Sup. Health Information Management, Dallas Diagnostic Association Plano

"As a manager in a large multi-specialty physician practice, one of the greatest challenges that I faced was the need for trained coding staff. PMI has great programs that allow the employees the opportunity to obtain the certifications and training needed. All of the coders on our staff have now become certified as a CMC and many of them have all three PMI certifications. We have seen our collections increase while our error rate and days in A/R have decreased. As an instructor, I have seen my students have greater success in job placement in the coding field having obtained a national certification from PMI. PMI has offered me many opportunities to grow in my own career. The entire PMI organization makes you feel more like family than just a certificate number. "

Brooke Chodzinski

Executive Director, CHRISTUS Southeast Texas PHO

"Throughout the past two years, the courses we have hosted from PMI have dramatically changed the medical office landscape in Southeast Texas. We took what was a relatively neglected educational market and, in a very short time, turned it into one of the most successful in our system. Our physicians have noticed increased revenue, improvements in professional conduct, and a greater overall sense of success. As part of a Physician Hospital Organization, I have seen our relationship with both physicians and office staff improve greatly as we all recognize the benefits of our partnership with PMI."

Tina R. McIlwrath, CCMEP

Continuing Medical Education Manager, MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society

"Partnering with PMI has allowed MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, to provide outstanding education to both physicians and their staff in Maryland. We are able to prepare both for upcoming changes in a timely fashion, allowing their main focus to remain with patient care. As such, it is my honor to serve on the 2012/2013 National Advisory Board for PMI. With a background in physician education, I hope to bring a unique perspective to this board."

Doug Arrington, Ph.D., FNP-BC, NEA-BC, CHC, CMC

Director- Revenue Cycle Development, UT System- Health Division, Director, Billing Compliance, UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas

One of the first things that impressed me about Practice Management Institute was their strong desire to provide the highest quality programs that embraced the various learning styles of the adult learner. This is just one example of the cutting edge methods used by PMI to provide information to individuals new to the healthcare setting or to individuals who have been working for sometime and who are looking to keep current and up to date on the emerging trends and issues. It is my personal honor to be selected to be a member of the Practice Management Institute National Advisory Board. Being able to provide input on how to continue and strengthen the quality of the programs offered by PMI is something that I look forward to. There are going to be many changes in healthcare over the next few years and I look forward to working with PMI on keeping healthcare practices and staff informed and up to date.

Wanda Batch, B.S.N., R.N., C.G.R.N.

Administrator, Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio

My association with PMI goes back too many years to count. My participation on the Advisory Board has allowed me to network with “The Best of The Best” in practice management. It is a difficult task to keep up with the ever changing environment of health care but PMI really helps in multiple ways. I have had the privilege of sharing my 30 plus years of practice management experience with other professionals who have the same interest and goals.

Gretchen Pike, PAHM, CMOM

Coordinator, Provider & Payer Relations, Director, Hancock Regional PHO, Property Management Liaison, Hancock Regional Hospital

I’m honored to serve on the PMI National Advisory Board. I’ve worked with the professional PMI staff for over ten years as a client, an associate faculty member and as an Advisory Board Member. PMI works diligently to ensure that they are offering current, pertinent, timely and high quality educational opportunities to physician office staff nationwide. The Affordable Care Act is sure to continue to offer new challenges and opportunities to physicians in the next few years. PMI will be there, with the news you need to know when you need to know it.
