PMI offers both live and Self-paced Training options to prepare for a certification exam.
Classroom Sessions are taught in leading hospitals, medical societies and colleges throughout the country, taught over several days by a PMI Instructor. Benefits include live, face-to-face training and class networking, a set training schedule and certification exam administered on the last class meeting day.
Live Webinars are taught periodically throughout the year. Students who enroll in this format receive a physical copy of the full course manual and access to a series of 10 to 12 live webinars accessible via a toll-free phone line and online slide presentation. Interact, ask questions and get answers real-time. Missed webinars can be reviewed anytime with online access to previously recorded live sessions. A discussion forum is available to ask questions and interact with the instructor offline. Once the course is complete, candidates make arrangements with PMI to sit for the exam, proctored live in a nearby community.

Self-paced Training options are also available for candidates who prefer to review the course materials at their own pace. Candidates receive a physical copy of the full course manual and access to a series of 10 to 12 previously-recorded webinars accessible to stream over any computer. A discussion forum is available to ask questions and interact with an instructor offline. Candidates have up to a year to complete the course and schedule to sit for the live exam, proctored in a nearby community.
Exam Only is an option is available for medical office professionals with extensive working knowledge may opt to challenge PMI's certification exam without enrolling in the training program. Candidates may call PMI to make arrangements with PMI to sit for the exam, proctored live in a nearby community. An exam preparation handbook is provided. This handbook is not a study guide, but does provide details about the exam, sample questions and an overview of the material covered on the exam.
